Searched the forums but did not come up with this problem being posted here yet. So apologies if I missed it am repeating this.I have a Windows 10 on my computer and recently acquired a copy of Office 2016 Professional through Hubby's work for a discount. However We have been trying for 3 days now to install it and it will not complete the installation. The most common problem being that it hangs at 90% and just sits there and won't progress any further even after being left over night.I have tried posting this problem on the Microsoft Community boards but they have been less than helpful in finding a solution. Of the things they have suggested, I tried them all but to no avail. Searched the forums but did not come up with this problem being posted here yet. Of the things they have suggested, I tried them all but to no avail. Ended up calling Microsoft and they remoted into my computer. She ran a utility to completely uninstall all office 2016 files just in case any remained after the uninstall I did myself as if there were any corrupted files left it could affect the install. Here is the link she used for that free utility:After that she tried installing again. Still had the issue of hanging at 90%. She ran the utility once more and rebooted my pc. She had me turn of my antivirus and then turned off windows firewall entirely.Then she used an htp link (which I guess was an internal link because I couldn't retain it) to download the installer and run it.

After running this it finally completed the install. She turned windows firewall back on after doing this. She said they have been having some issues with their servers recently and that it will not install if you are not connected to the internet because it accesses their servers to install unless you purchased a hard copy of the program. She said the servers should be working again now though. So if you are still having trouble try the utility link above, reboot and try installing again.
If you are still stuck I suggest calling Microsoft and let them remote in. Make sure you do not call using a Voip program on the computer you are having issues with though as it may need to be rebooted a few times during the process and you don't want your call to get disconnected.Hope this helps Some of you still stuck with this!
