@AngryDuck If you do it in the designer, does the designer at least show the image? If the application doesn't show it, then it might just be that the application cannot find the image (maybe it's a relative file path?). The easiest way to circumvent this (and pack all images with the application) is to use Qt's resource mechanism to include it directly with the application binary. This is the recommended aproach especially for such UI related images that always need to be present anyway (and usually don't span much memory either).–Apr 15 '13 at 11:02.
@AngryDuck 'the image is located im my project directory' - But can the application find it there? Is it given as a relative path in the final setting code (that generated by the designer) and if yes, does this relative path match the working directory of the application when it is actually run (which doesn't neccessarily need to match the project directory exactly)? Seriously, I think this is just some directory mismatch. Like said, the easiest way would be to put this whole image into a Qt resource.–Apr 15 '13 at 11:55.
The best of the lossless image formats is called PNG (Portable Network Graphics). This format is widely supported by web browsers and image viewers/editors. Vector Magic recommends using the PNG format when storing logos as bitmaps. There are actually several BMP formats (BitMaP). May 19, 2019 Some programs might not recognize an image as a JPEG Image file unless it has the proper file extension that the program is looking for. For example, some basic image editors and viewers will only open.JPG files and will not know that the.JPEG file you have is the same thing.

The patterns that will be traced differ depending on the detection method. Refer to the following examples, and select the desired method.Outline Detection - The outermost outline of the pattern is traced.Color Detection (Region Detection) - An image is divided into parts (regions) of colors, and then the outlines of the pattern parts created for colors (regions) are traced. When an image consisting of multiple colors is traced using the color detection method, a pattern part is created for each color (region) (center illustration below). Each pattern part can be selected separately and moved in the edit screen (right illustration below).
